Abstract

Management styles practiced by SMEs in the Mont Amba district of Kinshasa

 

This study examines management styles in small and medium-sized enterprises in the Mont-Amba district of Kinshasa. Its main goal was to identify the style adopted by managers and understand the factors influencing that choice.

 

A qualitative method was used, based on interviews and documentary analysis with the SME leaders. The results show that participative management is the most common style, although it is often combined with close control.

 

Managers justify this choice by the need to improve staff motivation, communication, cohesion, and company performance. The study highlights the crucial role of management style in organizational effectiveness.

Résumé

Cette étude analyse les styles de management dans les PME du district du Mont-Amba dans la ville de Kinshasa. L’objectif principal était d’identifier le style de management adopté par les dirigeants et de comprendre les facteurs influençant ce choix.

 

Une méthode qualitative a été utilisée, avec des entretiens et une analyse documentaire auprès de dix dirigeants. Les résultats montrent que le style participatif est le plus répandu, mais souvent associé à un contrôle strict.

 

Ce choix vise à renforcer la motivation, la communication, la cohésion et la performance. L’étude souligne enfin l’importance du style de management dans l’efficacité organisationnelle.
